About Tayfun Sertan Yaman

I was born in the beautiful nature protection site of Igneada, at the North-Western Coast of Turkey. I grew up and followed my primary education in this area. When I was 14 years old, I moved to Istanbul to enter a high school in computer science in Tuzla, and lived in Istanbul for more than 11 years. I also got my university degree on computer science in Istanbul, at Marmara University, and afterwards I worked in Istanbul for four more years. In that period I participated in some international projects in Northern Africa as well. Then my professional career brought me to the beautiful Netherlands in 2007, where I have been living ever since.

I earn my living as a software programmer, mainly in a computer software called Microsoft Dynamics AX and .NET (For CV please see my LinkedIn). My greatest hobby is photography, which I have been doing since my university days. I started my hobby in the early 90s, when I was a student at Marmara University, after buying a Russian Zenith 12XP SLR film camera from a market stand. I got my first photography training on shooting black&white photos with that camera. I like film photography a lot and sometimes I still do it, but I also have a special interest in new technologies and digital photography. When I moved to the Netherlands I got first digital DSLR, a Nikon D40, and I got so excited about the advantages DSLRs has over shooting with film SLRs. Since then I am shooting in digital, mostly nature, wildlife and travel photos.

My interests besides photography are web design, playing electric guitar, Argentine tango dancing, and scuba diving.

In 2015, I decided to build myself a website in order to share my work and knowledge with others somewhere outside popular social networking sites. I have programmed this website on raw HTML5, CSS, Javascript, ASP.NET Razor and MySql, also using some open source libraries and resources which I have listed below. The source code of some of this website’s areas, such as the photo gallery, are available in my GitHub profile and free to use.

Make your request above by copying the photo link (right-click on the photo in the gallery and choose "Copy link address"), giving the printing dimensions you need, and giving any of the Profotonet photo printing options from their webpage (include frame color, thickness, and other options in your message). International printing services other than Profotonet can be considered upon request. You will then receive a personal offer from me for the photo license price (varies per print resolution) + print-shipping costs.

Digital downloads: If you are interested in using my photography work in your publications or for any other needs you can also contact me directly using the contact form above. You can make your request above by copying the photo link (right-click on the photo in the gallery and choose "Copy link address") and giving your purpose for using the photo (small-large prints, in a website, book, magazine, brochure, advertising billboard, etc.). You will receive a personal offer from me for the photo license prices for your usage purposes. Photos will be sent in high-quality formats and suitable resolutions for your needs using file transfer services.
